Why you'll love this recipe

I developed this recipe because I was craving either a chocolate or coffee ice cream. Initially, I thought about mixing both flavors, but then I realized when there's more chocolate, the coffee just boosts the chocolate flavor, and if there's more coffee, it turns into a mocha ice cream. I wanted each flavor to stand out on its own, so I decided to layer them. This recipe gives you two awesome experiences. You get this rich coffee hit and creamy, fudgy chocolate. Each spoonful might lean more towards one flavor or the other, making it more fun than just having them mixed together. This recipe did not last long in my house and everyone that tried it said the same. Give it a try!

Substitutions

If you do not like chocolate and coffee or you are just craving another flavor this recipe is so customizable. Just leave out the coffee and gauche out and add your own flavors. Stick To adding powders. You could add liquid flaovrs like syrups and such. However, too much liquid could change the texture of the ice cream.

You could leave the vodka out if toy do not want alcohol. It will just make the ice cream a little more icy, but it is not a big deal.

Tips

  • Make sure you do not use low fat condensed milk or heavy cream. It will make the ice cream more icy.
  • You can add less or more coffee according to your taste
  • The vodka is added to enhance the ice cream's creamy texture. Because alcohol doesn't freeze, it helps maintain the creaminess of the ice cream. It is not a huge difference so you can skip this if you want.
